Strong hospitality background
Founders Rhys and Kyle opened Smugglers restaurant, following a long history in events and hospitality. Here, the restaurateurs experienced firsthand the challenges around compliance and management of a commercial kitchen. And in particular, food prep labelling…
2021
Labl.it is born
After 11 months of in-kitchen development and testing, on 1st October 2021, the same day Natasha’s Law took effect, Labl.it was launched. The innovative labelling device began improving kitchen efficiencies immediately, leading the team to win “Startup of the Year”.
2025
Continued operational growth
After 4 years of continuous growth and over 3,000 UK hospitality businesses being supported, Labl.it invested in a secondary location. Our new dedicated operations facility enhances customer experience with quicker shipping, better support, and a more streamlined repair process.
2026 and onwards
Ongoing innovation
In late 2026, Labl.it will roll out temperature monitoring accessories. Our new patent-protected food probe and fridge sensor will contribute towards the formulation of a fully integrated food safety and compliance solution. UK patents pending: 2519018.2 and 2602976.9

For every equivalent tree used, we pay for the planting of 19 trees within a sustainably managed re-forestation project. This more than offsets the paper used in the production of our label rolls.
